Overview

My client has an exciting and important role in achieving net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK, subsequently, they are recruiting a HV Senior Electrical Technician. The client does this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today. 
 
Their gas Terminals are fundamental to the UK economy and energy demands. They take pride in ensuring the safe, efficient, reliable and flexible supply of natural gas from the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) and Norway, providing key interfaces between UK/EU gas supplies.

About the Role

• As HV Senior Electrical Technician, act as a multi-skilled problem solver, providing dependable support.
• Perform tasks related to:
• Installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, and repair.
• Maintenance and emergency response activities.
• Specialized HV engineering support for HV Variable Speed Drive Compressor Units.
• Maintain all required competencies for the role.

• Ensure safe work practices by:
• Setting work safely for self and Contractors.
• Following safe control of operations procedures.
• Promoting a culture of safety compliance.
• HV Senior Electrical Technicianwill replace/upgrade plant and equipment when necessary.
• Assist in the design of minor modifications and provide technical support within expertise.
• Participate in duty standby rota and occasional shift work.
• HV Senior Electrical Technicianwill oversee and inspect contractor and working party activities to ensure technical and safety compliance.

What We Are Looking For

• HV Senior Electrical Technicianmust have a strong understanding of:

• High-pressure gas transmission pipeline systems.
• Above-ground installations and associated plant/equipment.
• Fault diagnosis and rectification (pipelines).
• Experience in Electrical Engineering with specific HV expertise.

As HV Senior Electrical Technician, you will have been assessed competent against Safety & Technical Competency Framework for role and have a good understanding of the operation and maintenance aero-derivative or electrically driven machinery trains, associated compressor station and terminal plant & equipment, fault diagnosis and rectification (Compressors).
