Job Overview:
Our clients offer unique storage solutions for crude, petroleum, chemical, bitumen, liquefied gas and biofuel products. Their terminals are pipeline-connected to local chemical manufacturing facilities and gas processing plants and each facility is an Upper Tier COMAH Site.
They are looking for an Electrical Technician to join the Maintenance team to ensure the terminal maintenance is managed safely and efficiently across North Tees and Seal Sands. You will provide technical support, leadership and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance.
Key responsibilities:
- Produce engineering and maintenance procedures for new systems.
- Execute safety critical equipment routines ensuring correct installation, checks and precautions are taken.
- Monitor and report on consumable stock levels
- Perform isolations and complete isolation certificates in accordance with our clients Isolation, Lockout & Tagout Policy, Procedures and Guidance.
- Attending HAZOP meetings, when requested, and completion of relevant actions.
- Provide input on method statements, risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
- Part of On-Call rota providing emergency engineering support to plant.
- Day to day management of ongoing maintenance tasks completed by E&I contract companies and ensuring competency of electrical contractors working onsite.
- Providing electrical engineering support and fault finding to ensure operational performance of plant is optimised.
- Assist with the writing of procedures and permits required to ensure a safe system of work.
- Project assistance of assigned projects within the guidelines and set out in the UK Project Management Policy executed to the agreed timeline.
- Ensure all amendments to terminal drawings and documentation are redlined and issued for update
Day to day responsibilities:
Complete scheduled electrical maintenance activities, including but not limited to:
- MCC inspections
- Hazardous area inspections
- IR testing CP Joints
- Earthing and bonding testing and inspections
- RCD testing
- Electric heat tracing testing
- LV fixed wiring DB inspection
- Cause and Effect testing
- Motor inspections/testing
- Motor rotation checks
- Electric fire pump testing
- Lighting inspections
- Access control systems
- Supervise contractor inspections e.g. cathodic protection, transformer inspections/HV inspections/breaker testing
Providing electrical engineering support and fault finding to ensure operational performance of plant is optimised.
- Troubleshooting MCC faults
- Earth faults
- Motor faults
Completed corrective work/unplanned works
- Replacing / upgrading lighting fitting
- Replacing motors and switches
- Hazardous area equipment remedial work
- Minor panel modifications
What you will need:
- BTEC/NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Engineering discipline or time served apprenticeship.
- COMPEX 01, 02, 03, 04 certified.
- BS7671 18th Edition
- Safety Instrumented System awareness
- 5+ Years’ experience working within a Petrochemical / chemical industry as an E&I technician.
- IPAF 3A & 3B
- PASMA mobile tower erection
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working at Heights
- High Voltage awareness up to 11kv.
