About the role

As the Compliance Engineer for the St Fergus, using your expertise, you will support the terminal to continuously ensure a high performing, safe, secure and environmentally aware culture. Reporting to the North Sea Terminals Compliance Manager, you will be a self-starter with a desire for knowledge & development.

 

Being an upper tier COMAH site means we must ensure compliance the COMAH regulations at all times in addition to accurate reporting requirements around compliance data and regulatory reporting.

 

In this role and working on an upper tier COMAH site, you will plan, prepare and conduct regular assurance reviews to ensure high safety standards and report back findings with suggested areas for improvement and what good internal and external practices look like.

 

You will ensure that the emergency, security, safety, operational and environmental plans are procedures are developed, authorised, reviewed and tested on a regular basis is key. As part of this, you will undertake incident investigations to determine route causes and subsequent actions to mitigate as necessary.

 

You will participate in the development and production of Formal Process Safety Assessments including HAZOP, HAZID, HAZCON workshops, and Job Specific Risk Assessments

 

As we continue on our upgrade journey, you will support the construction and commissioning of new assets at the terminal in accordance with agreed policies & quality standards.

 

What we are looking for

 

To be successful in this role you will of course have a good understanding of COMAH legislative requirements with experience of working in high safety environments. It would be advantageous (not required) to have an understanding of the operation and maintenance of a gas terminal.

 

You will have knowledge and experience of the permit to work systems, risk assessment and method statement requirements. In your career you will have developed strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to collaborate effectively within the team.
